Busy bees in Room 14 on Harmony Day 2014!!

Room 14 has voted on cooking fried rice for our Harmony Day picnic.  Here are some of our students helping to chop up our ingredients.  Everyone had a turn to prepare the onions, carrots, corn, long beans and mushrooms.

Here is Mrs Fitzgerald demonstrating how we wash the rice ready to put it into the rice cooker.  We wash the rice 3 times by rinsing and draining the water out each time.  The water becomes less murky each time the rice is washed.

The is our finished product.  We hope that most of the teachers, families and friends that tried our fried rice found it tasty.

During our picnic, we had the "Acushla" band played some very soothing and relaxing music while we ate a very wide variety of food from different countries and cultures.

It is a very exciting and special moment for one of our students in Room 14 as his mum is in this band playing the percussion instruments.  Thank you very much!!  Everyone enjoyed your music!!
